Alejandra “Lala” Bustos was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on November 1st, 1983. She immigrated to the United States at two years of age forcing her to embrace a bicultural world. Her love for words began as a child writing in her diary. Due to a lack of affection from her parents, she discovered that she was able to express her deep emotions by writing them on pages.
She graduated from the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is currently a math teacher. Her love for philanthropy came at an early age which has led her to create Lala’s Christmas Tree Foundation, which has donated more than two thousand trees to deserving families in Southern California. Her love for children and her self-empowerment led her to compose this, her fi rst book of motivational poems called, “Children’s Lala-bies, Poetry for The Soul.”
